عَنْ الأَسْوَدِ قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ : إِنَّ المُؤْمِنَ يَرَى ذُنُوبَهُ كَأَنَّهُ فِي أَصْلِ جَبَلٍ يَخَافُ أَنْ يَقَعَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّ اْلفَاجِرَ يَرَى ذُنُوْبَهُ كَذُبَابٍ وَقَعَ عَلَى أَنْفِهِ فَقَالَ بِهِ هَكَذَا فَطَارَ
Al-Aswad reported the ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud رضي الله تعالى عنه said:
The believer sees his sins as if they are on the precipice of a mountain, he fears they may fall on him; while the immoral person sees his sins as if they were flies on his nose, which he just waves away and they fly away.
